Terms of Service
Effective 19 October 2026. BLExpand is in beta, so these terms may change.
1. The service
BLExpand (Miroslav Fedurco) makes Bluetooth LE devices available over the internet using phones (hub and Virtual Device), a portal and an app. The service is in beta and is provided "as is", without any warranty of availability, uninterrupted operation or freedom from errors.
2. Account
You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for securing your account, your phones and the QR codes you generate. Removing a phone in the portal disconnects it immediately.
3. Acceptable use
You may use BLExpand only with devices you own or may control with the owner's consent. In particular, the following is prohibited:
- controlling, monitoring or disrupting other people's devices without consent,
- circumventing the security of devices or services,
- overloading or disrupting the service, automated account creation,
- use that violates applicable law.
4. Safety and use at your own risk
Remote control of appliances (especially diesel or gas heating and electrical appliances) is at your own responsibility. Ensure correct installation, ventilation and supervision according to the manufacturer's instructions. The service does not replace the safety features of devices and must not be used for safety-critical functions (for example locks, alarms, medical devices, protection of life or property). Commands may be delayed, fail to arrive or not be executed, for example during an internet, power or phone outage. Do not rely on a command being executed.
5. Third-party devices and apps
We are not affiliated with device manufacturers or their apps. Manufacturer names are their trademarks. Bluetooth is a trademark of Bluetooth SIG, Inc. BLExpand does not modify devices or manufacturers' apps. You are responsible for complying with manufacturers' terms. We do not guarantee it will work with every device.
6. Data
How we process personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Price
The service is free during the beta. We may introduce paid features later; we will tell you in advance and you will only pay after you agree.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, lost profit, or damage caused by incorrect installation or use of devices, service outages or the actions of third parties. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights under applicable law or liability that cannot be excluded.
9. Termination
You can stop using the service at any time by removing your phones, and you can request deletion of your account. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms or if the service is at risk. We may change or discontinue the service; we will inform you in advance of material changes.
10. Changes and governing law
We may change these terms; the current version is always on this page. The relationship is governed by the law of the Slovak Republic. Consumers keep the protection afforded by the law of their country of habitual residence.
